"The way beneath the way is found in stillness, and stillness finds us when we let it."

The full introduction or context for this transmission lives here. This is where you can write longer-form thoughts that frame what the listener is about to receive — the story behind the prayer, the moment of its origin, or the deeper meaning to attend to as they listen. Keep paragraphs generous in spacing so the eye can rest.
Grandmother Jyoti
This is a prayer offered by Grandmother Jyoti. It was recorded in 2023, when Jyoti Ma joined us to open the first cohort of Transilience, a 120-hour plant-medicine integration training.
I continue to listen to this prayer as part of my morning practice. It has become a profound source of wisdom and guidance for the times we are living through.
This prayer is a doorway into our inner ground, a reservoir of inner stability we can draw from as we navigate the unraveling of our world.
Grandmother Jyoti is an elder, a wisdom keeper, a medicine woman. She is also a source of great inspiration in my life, and I'm honored to call her a friend and an ally.
In this prayer Jyoti speaks to the Kogi prophecy that says "the ending will fall into the new beginning in 2026."
And I want to take a moment to share a few words about who the kogi are and about prophecy in general.
There is a mountain range in northern Colombia called the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. And high in the remote reaches of these mountains lives a truly remarkable group of people called the Kogi people of the Kagaba Nation.
The Kogi are called the Elder Brothers of humanity. They are Original Peoples who have maintained an unbroken lineage and way of life that stretches back thousands of years.
They have kept this way alive by living in Right Relationship with the Earth, through ecological and spiritual attunement, and their extraordinary capacity to listen and respond in ways that maintain balance and relational harmony.
And throughout the ages these Original Peoples have carried prophecy; both warnings and instructions meant for this exact moment in time that we are standing in right now.
Prophecy isn't about predicting what will happen.
In many ancient and indigenous traditions, the prophet wasn’t a predictor of events, but a revealer of truth in this moment.
The role of the prophet was to wake people up in the present moment to how they have gone off course.
They are essentially saying that the current way is not sustainable, and in a sense, the intent of the prophet is to disrupt complacency by illuminating imbalance.
This perspective on the meaning of prophecy feels deeply resonant and it speaks to the underlying warning the Kogi are expressing.

This prayer you’re about to hear carries many layers. There are teachings and instructions embedded within it.
It's informative, and orientational. It helps us remember how to listen, how to carry ourselves, and how to meet the medicine of this moment with integrity and a sense of dignity.
That’s why I continue to return to it, again and again, and why I want to share it with you.
And right now, at this extraordinary moment in time, we need more support from elders who are carrying wisdom teachings, elders who are versed in the ceremonial ways of holding space through rites of passage.
Elders who can teach us the way of sacred prayer, who are rooted in the truth of the original principles to help us realign with the natural rhythm of life that we, as a species, have strayed so far away from.
It was a great honor and privilege to accompany Grandmother Jyoti alongside a council of indigenous elders to meet with the Kogi in 2022. That journey most certainly punctuated the closing of a chapter in the story of my life and the opening of a new one.
This prayer is a clear signal, a transmission that cuts through the noise, calling forward those who are ready to listen more deeply, and attune to a different way of living.
My hope is that it awakens a deep remembering within you. That it reminds you that you do not have to walk through this time alone, and that we are meant to meet this time together.
If you have a morning practice—with or without sacred plant medicines—I invite you to receive this prayer as part of opening your container. And as I always recommend when receiving a wisdom teaching or sacred transmission, take a moment to find your center and sit upright, out of respect for Jyoti Ma and for these teachings. A strong back and an open front helps us stay present and receptive to what’s being offered.
So let's settle in, take a breath, and allow these powerful words from Grandmother Jyoti to bless your life, and may this prayer become a source of resilience and strength for your journey ahead.
