This is a prayer offered by Grandmother Jyoti. It was recorded in 2023, when Jyoti Ma joined us to open the first cohort of Transilience, a 120-hour plant-medicine integration training.
I continue to listen to this prayer as part of my morning practice. It has become a profound source of wisdom and guidance for the times we are living through.
This prayer is a doorway into our inner ground, a reservoir of inner stability we can draw from as we navigate the unraveling of our world.
In this prayer Jyoti speaks to the Kogi prophecy that says "the ending will fall into the new beginning in 2026."
There is a mountain range in northern Colombia called the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. And high in the remote reaches of these mountains lives a truly remarkable group of people called the Kogi people of the Kagaba Nation.
The Kogi are called the Elder Brothers of humanity. They are Original Peoples who have maintained an unbroken lineage and way of life that stretches back thousands of years.
They have kept this way alive by living in Right Relationship with the Earth, through ecological and spiritual attunement, and their extraordinary capacity to listen and respond in ways that maintain balance and relational harmony.
This prayer you're about to hear carries many layers. There are teachings and instructions embedded within it. It's informative and orientational. It helps us remember how to listen, how to carry ourselves, and how to meet the medicine of this moment with integrity and a sense of dignity.
If you have a morning practice — with or without sacred plant medicines — I invite you to receive this prayer as part of opening your container. As I always recommend when receiving a wisdom teaching or sacred transmission, take a moment to find your center and sit upright, out of respect for Jyoti Ma and for these teachings. A strong back and an open front helps us stay present and receptive to what's being offered.
So let's settle in, take a breath, and allow these powerful words from Grandmother Jyoti to bless your life, and may this prayer become a source of resilience and strength for your journey ahead.
